The Morrigans are a newly formed Women’s Gaelic Football Team who are competing this year for the first time in the Women’s League of the SA Gaelic Football & Hurling Association. The “Morrigan”, the Irish Goddess of Battle, is how we would like to mould ourselves. While the Morrigan is known for her fierce and brutal strength on the battle field we will be battling it out on the Gaelic pitch. Our motto is to have fun, gain some fitness and meet new people whilst learning to play the game and being competitive against the more established teams in the competition. We believe we have a great balance of girls to kick start our season. We have a few girls who have joined us from existing teams and their experience will be invaluable to the new girls. We are a fairly mixed bunch with some of our girls just looking to play a new sport while others have backgrounds in AFL, Soccer and Cricket. We will all learn to play the game together so any new players are more than welcome to come and join us.
