About

Zürich Inneoin GAA club was formed in 2002 by a group of non-Irish friends to promote the games of camogie, gaelic football and hurling in the city of Zürich and throughout Switzerland. Along the way they attracted many players, both new and experienced, Irish and non-Irish. Originally a hurling-only club, the camogie team formed in 2008, and tentative steps towards football were taken in 2008. 2012 saw the emergence of The Anvils as a footballing force in Europe, dominating the shield tournaments in Vienna and Maastricht. 2013 saw the creation of the Swiss/Italian Region and Zurich dominated in both the mens and ladies. The 15-a-side Premier Championship was the focus, and Zurich lost out by a point to Guernsey for the right to represent Europe in Leinster. The ladies followed suite at the end of 2012, sending a team to Maastricht to compete for the first time. 2014 will be a big year for both the mens and ladies teams.
