Gothenburg GAA Club was officially formed in early 2004. It came about as a result of a few Ex Pats knocking around some sliotars on Sunday afternoons and our founder Billy "The Kid" Finn getting in contact with the European GAA Board to find out how he would go about starting a club here in Gothenburg. Having been given the basic information Billy went ahead and rounded some of us up for a meeting to consider the idea of starting a club and getting ourselves registered with the European Board. Discussions were had, votes were cast, and the result was the elected committee and the beginning of Gothenburg GAA. So then came the hard part, when do we train, who are we going to play and where? Billy was busy on the e-mail and phone and managed to arrange a trip down the road for a game against Copenhagen GAA. Training began (Oh man, Sunday afternoon training after a late Saturday night!) and things started to come together, and soon enough it was time for the trip. Welcome Gothenburg GAA to the European Stage.
