About

Estrela Vermelha is born on 1997 as a soccer club from the neighbourhood of Fontiñas in Santiago de Compostela. At the beginning it was called “Independente das Fontiñas”, although the name changed shortly after to Estrela Vermelha. Years later, on August 2013, the club suffers a strong transformation and starts competing in one of the booming sports in Galicia: gaelic footbal. The objective was to start competing in the men’s Galicia League for the 2013/14 season, becoming both League and Cup champions on our first year. That same year, our club ended as runner-up on the Iberian Tournament round held in A Coruña, losing only to Madrid, granting us the title of the “revelation team” of the year. Next season saw the birth of our female squad, who would end in a meritory 3rd and 2nd position in both League and Cup, respectively. That year, we went on to organize than same Galician Cup in Teo, on June 20th. Since 2013, the club has not stopped achieving success and trying to spread Gaelic football through the region!
