About

We are situated in the Ealing / Hanwell area of west london. In 2009, London GAA registered a new hurling team based in Hanwell, West London, continuing the Great tradition of GAA clubs all over the world bearing the name: Michael Cusacks. Originally based above the King's Arms in Hanwell, founding members included Chairman Declan Carr, Éanna Cullen, Mel McCormack and Damian Kealy, but very soon a number of Hanwell GAA enthusiasts joined the ranks.Though it had been many years since any new hurling club had successfully formed and survived in London, the Cusacks not only survived that first fledging year, but on two championship matches in the process. In 2010, though the club was only beginning its second season in existence, Michael Cusacks appeared in the Final of the Ronan Cup. Their opponents that day, were the Brothers Pearse, who won the game in extra time. It was an historic occasion, as one of London's oldest clubs, faced its newest. Michael Cusacks London went on to appear in the 2010 Intermediate Championship Final, and the Division 2 League Final, only just missing out. In the 2011 season, this positive start, spurred the Michael Cusacks onwards. The club, based Hanwell and under the management of Colin Whelan ith he help of his selectors Gerry Dempsey, Mick Sheehan and Dave McCann, continued to improve throughout the season. And, Michael Cusacks reached the Division 2 League Final and the 2011 Intermediate Championship Final. Winning Both! Not only has this young London Hurling Club survived, but the success of Michael Cusacks London has been inspiring, both on and off the hurling pitch. A close knit committee, have turned this newly created hurling Team into a progressive & ambitious GAA Club in a very short period of time.Any players based in London wishing to join this friendly & well runhurling club
