Darwin Shamrocks

Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia

About

Darwin has a new Gaelic football club to cater for the growing number of young Irish emigrants arriving in the city. Darwin Shamrocks owes its origins to the Paddy Bird Cup, an international rules game in honour of a young Cavan man killed in a gas explosion in December 2011.The club’s name and logo is a nod to the late Mr Bird’s home club in Cavan, the Baileborough Shamrocks.
