About

We began in 1972, sponsored by The FDNY Emerald Society. With much support from members such as then President Thomas Doyle, Board members Brendan Coffey & Matt Murtagh. Not to mention players Tom Montgomery, Jim Spillane, Paddy Murray, Billy Callahan, and many more. A club that has struggled over the past 35 years to keep the "Games of the Gael" alive and strong! Back in the seventies there was a great rivalry between the Fire and Police Departments, which still exists to this day. But it is a rivalry formed out of respect and love for our heritage. To keep the game alive. Since the tragic disaster of 9/11, there has grown a universal bond between Firefighters and Police throughout these United States and Abroad. New friendships have evolved, and our sport has become a link to further those friendships. Back in 2002, The Dublin Fire Brigade GFC first traveled to New York. We played against one another in Gaelic Park. From that point on, we hosted each other here in the United States and in Ireland . This has now grown with the addition of The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service. In 2005, we were invited to play in Belfast. We traveled to Ireland that year and played two games in Dublin & Belfast. A great time was had by all. And once again another friendship was born. These past five years have been something that all our players will remember for the rest of their lives.
